Another lovely book by Sad Hoff. It tells the story of a bear that lost its habitat when his forest was lost to overlogging. He goes through the town looking for an appropriate place to live but finds naturally that a bear can not live among people.

Like Syd Hoff’s other books, this is a simple story with many layers of depth. His books are fun for children but they are insightful and serious at their core. The illustrations are enjoyable, the vocabulary is well chosen.

The text is intended to help early readers.
