A fairy-tale chapter book for George Macdonald about real love and the sacrifice it requires. This is a beautiful little book characteristic of its author at his best. The illustrations are also well-made.

George Macdonald is an exceptional writer who has had a major influence on authors including C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterton.
