This book is perfect for a child who is fascinated by volcanoes and wants to know more about them. This small book has all the information one wants to know about what volcanoes are, how they are formed and their eruptions. A great introduction to one of natures most exciting and dangerous features.

The text is informative enough to interest adults. at the same time it is simple enough for primary school children to understand. The information presented is well sequenced and relevant, giving a ‘full understanding’ of volcanoes. It is not just a collection of facts, but a well written explanation of this natural phenomenon.

A mix of photographs and drawings make the book engaging to look through. Younger kids can learn a lot just looking through it, and as they grow they can take in more of the text. There are many books out there about volcanoes, but this one is highly recommended for being to the point, giving a good overview and not waisting space trying to be sensationalist.
