Sometimes I wonder if 'Charlotte's Web' did not become one of the U.S's top children's classic stories because it is a book that is loved by adults. It certainly has a lot of the elements that adults would like to have in children's books. Nevertheless, it is a good book that children will enjoy also.

There is a lot to like here. It is a story about friendship; about how kindness brings out the best in people. It explains that you 'lift up your life a trifle' if you do kindness to others. It deals with the issue of death and shows how the world continues to go on after such a previous tragedy. The story explains how one can make their brief life matter.

The book takes place in a nice setting, in a charming farm. The animal characters come to life, each with a unique personality. The book uses nice vocabulary. It shares the authors love for words.

The min character (Charlotte) exemplifies 'the real sort of greatness' that only humble people have.

Yes. There is a lot to like in this book. A gentle story about animals and friendship. A book that will stay with its readers alway, forever bearing fruit.
