A picture book about a little boy who spends a couple of days with his aunt and uncle on their farm. We see the little boy help to feed the animals. The highlight is when he helps with lambing.

A main theme of the story is how little Joe overcomes his fear of being in this new place without his parents. A nice simple story with a bunch of nice images. This 'little adventure' could be useful for speaking with younger children about their feelings if they are going to a new place.

The story-telling has a poetic repetitiveness and the illustrations are lovely. My one criticism of the book is that the age range for which it is useable is limited. This is because the text is perhaps a bit difficult for younger toddlers, even though the theme is appropriate for them. 3-5 year olds will enjoy reading it.
