If you are looking for a straight-forward traditional telling of the nativity story for children, this is a nice one. Unlike most newer attempts to write about the birth of Christ, this one doesn’t try so hard to be cute. Christ is not a cuddly teddy bear, but God incarnate. It is theologically sound, as older books used to be, and the images are nice also.
The book treats the subject matter, as well as its young readers, with respect. The language is simple but theological.
