A lovely chapter book about three children who get busy repairing an abandoned railway station. The project gives the something interesting to do and brings happiness to their life. They work hard and must use their ingenuity to overcome various obstacles.

Children will enjoy this story where child characters engage with real problems and take initiative to solve them. The book shows the importance for people of all ages to have meaningful employment. It also has a notably kind way of looking at teenage misfit behaviour. The children have to deal with a group of troublemaking older teenagers, but the solution found by the author is a satisfying one.

Decorated with nice old-school pictures.
