Debi Gliori’s illustrations are very loveable. Loaded with personality and kindness. The story is a nice one. It is about a little girl (in a town much like Edinburgh) who does not have friends and is lonely. By the end she makes a lovely friend.

We see the heroin rejected by the other kids until she manages to make a friend. This books deals with the topic well and is approachable to children without being simplistic.
