This handsome picture book introduces numbers from one to ten. It's theme is Tanzanian wildlife, and so, each page also introduces children to wonderful African animals.

The pictures are beautiful. They show the animals and their natural habitat, as well as of Masai villagers. At the back of the book we finds a few pages giving information about the Masai people and their land; more details about the Tanzanian animals that we have met throughout the book; as well as a couple of pages teaching us some Swahili.

The text is musical, written in verse. The vocabulary is interesting. A very nice book bringing us images and learning from the Masai. Pleasant to look through and informative for children. Readers can learn the numbers in English as well as in Swahili.
