This book retells in story the famous song written by J. M. Neale about the life of Duke Wenceslas. Known posthumously as a king, Wenceslas was a Duke of Bohemia who lived in the 9th century. He is remembered for his many acts of Christian generosity.

J.M. Neale made the Duke known in the English speaking world in the 1850’s by writing a song that has become a classic Christmas carol. The storyline of this book follows the carol closely, adding more details and bringing it to life. A good book about the true Christmas spirit.
