A lovely little information book about (as the title says) big cats. Readers learn about the lives of leopards; jaguars; lions; cheetahs; and tigers.

The information is interesting and well presented. Even an adult will learn something from this simple little book. The facts presented feel 'substantial' and the reader can tell that the text was written by a zoology expert. The illustrations are hand-drawn and wonderfully so. The whole presentation of the book is beautiful and relaxed - it is not overly flashy.

The text is simple and intended for young readers. The book is part of an Oxford University Press learning to read series. A good quality information book for children.
