This pocket sized little book published in the 1980's is a lovely gift for children who are interested in marine life and fishing. It is just a catalogue of (over 160) species of fish. Each fish is presented with a handsome hand-drawn picture, details of its habitat and distribution, as well as its special features for identification.

It is a pretty little book because of its illustrations. It is nice to look through, a bit like a picture-dictionary of common fish. The text will not interest everyone. It was not written with the purpose of being of general interest. Some children love reading detailed information about topics that have caught their imagination. This book is for those children who have a love of fishing or a special interest in fish.

A well made little book for fishing enthusiasts.
