This is an exceptionally nice and story book. It is unique and has personality. So much so that I would gift it to an adult who did not have children (if they liked artistic stuff).

The book is actually a collection of seven picture-story books by J. Burningham in the 70’s and 80’s. I recommend getting this collection rather than individual story books because they work well together. The resulting book is better than the sum of its parts.

Charming humorous storylines illustrated with artful pictures that set the mood excellently. All ages can enjoy this book, except perhaps teenagers who will consider it a kids book. It is a kids book; but all good books are also for adults. Perhaps I would not gift it to a teenager. It is the book you need to be young enough, or old enough to appreciate.
