This book is one of the very many books in the Czech series about Krtk (little mole). He is perhaps the best known Czech character and his stories have marked the childhood of generations of children worldwide. All of the books featuring Krtk are worthwhile, however, most of them have not been translated to English unfortunately.

Some have however, and these are worth getting. They are treasures of world children's literature. I am sure that as you get to know the little mole you will see why he has been loved so much by so many.

This particular book has a Christmas theme as the title suggests. We see little mole and his friends having wonderful winter fun as well as preparing traditional Czech Christmas customs. This book will bring you images from the heart of Czech Christmas traditions.

The illustrations are what childhood is all about!
