This excellent story takes place in an imaginary place that imitates Timbuktu (Mali) in the olden days of traders, camels and caravans crossing the desert. The book successfully takes you back to a different place, full of wonder and wisdom.

The characters are faithful muslims, as they would have been in such a time and place. We meet some extraordinary personalities (inspired by true stories). This book is a breath of fresh distant and mystical desert air. Thoroughly enjoyable and intriguing.

The illustrations are beautiful and one wishes there were more of them.
