This book is a nicely made introductory history book about the tragic Scottish prince that was the centre of much of Scotland's folk culture. Many of Scotland's favourite folk songs were written about this leader of the Jacobites, who in the end brought ruin to Scotland's clans. His failure to capture the British throne brought on a suppression of Scotland's clan system and changed the way the nation was organised forever.

A tragic and interesting figure. This short book would make a good reference book for a school library, or an interesting read for any child who cares about Scotland's history in particular.

It has nice illustrations and it is well laid out.
