This book is very nearly 'just another cute picture book' for children. However, it has something special about it that makes it remarkable. That is the way it refers to the various people that populate the story. By referring to each and all by their name the book gives readers the feeling that all people in a city are loveable and have human dignity. Subtly, this book presents the world as full of 'people who matter'.

People in cities can seem faceless and it is good for children to see that everyone is someone.

Otherwise, the illustrations are lovely and the story is sweet and fun. This is the sort of story that will have children talking about their experiences and asking questions rather than just listening.
