This beautiful illustrated book tells the story of one of Ireland's older saints, saint Brigid.

The text is beautifully written. It is poetic and simple, yet gives a lot of information about the saints life. The emphasis is on her story rather than facts about her, and so it is interesting for children to read.

The pictures are inspired by Celtic Christian art, yet they are modernised in a colourful pleasant sort of way. They also tell the story of the saint.

A nicely made book for those interested in ancient Ireland, Celtic Christianity and St. Brigid. Saint Brigid is venerated both by the Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox Church.
