This book of adventure tells the story of a shepherd boy on the Himalayan mountains who needs to defend his flock from eagles that would prey upon them. This book has a unique feeling about it. We see in it the real life of animals (eagles and sheep) and a truthful and exciting way not commonly found in children’s books.

The relationship between the shepherd boy and his grandparents is inspiring. The boy’s courage is lofty. The story is simple yet enthralling; the illustrations are wonderful. This book is full of adventure; not because it makes up a ridiculous plot to hold your attention, but because the author manages to reveal what is adventurous and dangerous in simple reality. Lovely.
