An epic fantasy/adventure story that is exceptionally good. This book explores concepts like honour, dignity, truthfulness, point of view, and responsibility to others. It does so in an insightful, engaging and interesting way.
It is full of philosophical thoughts that will please ‘deep thinkers’; at the same time it is full of adventure to satisfy those who enjoy action! The book is based in a (fantastical) Indian context and uses a lot of Indian mythology to shape the story as well as its marvellous fascinating characters. However, I can’t help but notice that the author must have enjoyed reading Tolkien. It is also reminiscent of the traditional Slavic tale of ‘Zlatovláska’.
This book sketches some of the most interesting characters in children’s literature. This book has everything. It has stories of war; of love; of friendship; wisdom; and much more. A very enjoyable book for adults as much as for children. This book will leave you with a lot to think over; and with a desire to read more from this intriguing author.
