This book is a descent retelling of a classic Russian fairytale. It captures the traditional story and gives a flavour of Russian Medieval court life. It introduces a couple of recurring characters from Russian folklore. I find that reading fairytales is a great way to understand the mind and heart of a foreign nation.

The illustrations are good also.
