The best aspect of this book is the way it is written. The story telling is artful. It is a pleasure to read just for the skill of the author.

The storyline is nice as well. It is about the life of a family with three children, seen from the perspective of their youngest daughter. She is a wonderful little girl, a bit reclusive, and fascinated by animals. Although the family live in London, the little girl manages to make her garden as full of life as a farm.

The book is humorous and at the same time has interesting exchanges between the characters. The characters are nice to spend time with. An enjoyable story for those who like animals.

The writing is simple enough for primary school children to read it themselves. A good chapter book for young progressing readers.
