This picture book tells a fun simple story about being inventive, but the book is not really about the story. The wonderful illustrations, the setting and the characters all work together to give you a sense life in a British costal area. the lighthouse keeper and his wife are worth meeting!

This book is a fun story, but really, it is an ethnographic experience for children. A great book.
