This is a very simple book. It does not do much, but what it does do, it does well enough. The book shows the calmness and love that can exist between a young toddler and their grandfather.

The setting of the story contains a lot of images of nature. The little child and his grandfather spend a lot of time walking in the park or forest, when they are not sitting at home reading together and talking. The purpose of the book is to celebrate this special relationship that children can often have with a grandparent, since the grandparent has less worries and can slow down and spend gentle time with a child.

The book celebrates a wonderful aspect of (extended) family life; a lovely aspect of childhood; and of love. The artwork is good and the images of nature gives the book charm. A good book for a grandpa to enjoy with his grandchild, or for a family that want to remember their beloved grandpa.
